Since the global pandemic, online tuition is here to stay and, as such, TCX offers a series of teaching packages delivered by our TCX Bureau members, either as live screen-to-screen tuition or more generic, subject-specific units available as downloadable modules.

Our teachers at TCX can take you from the novice level, and from any age, though to advanced performance diploma standard, as you and your teacher see fit.

If you don’t see your instrument of choice here, get in contact, and we’ll be happy to make the necessary arrangements… and don’t forget to tell us in which country you live so we can line up the time zones!

Lessons are delivered in six blocks and can be completed within a week or 3 months as designated by your teacher.

When completed, come back for more when you feel you are ready! You may wish to try another instrument or delve deeper into your instrument of choice – all of our tuition is carefully crafted to maximise your learning experience.

Fees: All TCX teachers follow these rates for 2022/23 season and payable through the global payment system, SamCart :

A series of six, 1-hour lessons: GBP250.00
A series of six 30-minute lessons: GBP190.00

Do I have to already have some knowledge of the course I am enrolling in?

No, you do not need to have any prior knowledge of the course that you are enrolling in, as each course is tailored for your individual skills.

Will my course be taught live or will it be video lessons that will be downloaded?

You can choose from downloadable modules, or live; screen to screen depending on the regional times zones and availability.

What do I need to bring to my lessons?

Yourself and your ‘instrument’ – some manuscript paper and pencils (and erasers) and lots of energy to learn something new!

How many lessons will be in the course?

There are six lessons in each course.

How long is each lesson?

You choose, from 30 minutes to 1 hour

What qualifications do I receive at the end?

Your teacher can take you through to diploma level if that is what you are looking for!

Will I get to perform at the end of this course?

Hopefully, if there is an opportunity for a virtual concert to celebrate your achievement, we shall make the most of it!

Will I be on my own or in a group?

The design of TCX e-learning is designed for the individual

Can I have my mum and dad with me for my lesson?

For those under 16, yes! Though do discuss with your designated teacher first.

Do I have to supply my own music or is it provided for me by the teacher?

This will be discussed with you prior to your course beginning. Usually you will be advised on music that needs to be purchased. The cost of this is not included in the lesson fee.

How do the fees work?

All lessons are paid up front, and in full, at the time of confirmation following registration.

Are there any other fees?

No registration fees or deposits are required.

How often can I have the lessons?

That is between you and the teacher! You can take them all in a week if you like, but they must be completed within 2 months of the confirmed registration. Any lessons not completed within the time allotted will be forfeited.

How do I make payment?

By international bank transfer. All details will be given to you on registration. You will have 14 days to make the complete payment and to reserve the lesson time!
